AIDS InfoNet is a project of the New Mexico AIDS Education and Training Center in the Infectious Diseases Division of the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine. AIDS InfoNet is an on-line HIV/AIDS information website that facilitates the availability of HIV/AIDS information in non-technical and local languages, to those without direct access to treatment education or those who wish to maintain their privacy and confidentiality. InfoNet was originally designed to make information on HIV/AIDS services and treatments easily accessible in both English and Spanish for residents of New Mexico. Its mission has expanded to provide HIV/AIDS treatment information, in non-technical language, in various languages to people outside of New Mexico. The primary audience for InfoNet materials include people living with HIV and their caregivers, especially nurses and other first-line treatment providers. As a collaborative effort with AIDS Infonet, SAATHII, with expertise in developing patient and provider education tools, has adapted factsheets on various topics of HIV/AIDS to the Indian context and has translated them into various Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Manipuri.
